This large fine quality sloping front stationery box is
veneered with burr walnut on all surfaces, and mounted with trefoil brass straps on all sides.. The interior retains its original lining of blue moire silk in good condition, and the patented Nettlefold lock its original key.

The name of the original retailer, Briggs, 27 Piccadilly, London, is engraved on a flush brass strip between the hinges.

Accompanying the box is the biography, on his crested notepaper, of its distinguished former owner, Lord Farnham, who died in 2001.
