Beautifully made Victorian rosewood ogee framed games compendium, the chess board inlaid with satinwood & rosewood squares & barber shop stringing, the mahogany backgammon board on the reverse inlaid with satinwood & ebony, also with barber shop stringing. The front of the frame drops forward on hinges to allow the board to be reversed, and can be locked.
A double sided rosewood veneered solitaire & chinese checker board inlaid with maple squares for playing etc. is housed inside the box.

The compendium includes good set of Staunton Boxwood chess men in a mahogany box, boxwood backgammon, draughts & checkers set in its slide top mahogany box, a boxwood dice shaker, a set of bone dice, and a large quantity of bone markers.
